2012年5月21日至23日，第二届尼山世界文明论坛在尼山举办。这是一届由尼山论坛组委会与联合国教科文组织、联合国文明联盟三家在孔子故乡共同庆祝联合国“世界文化多样性促进对话与发展日”（简称“世界文明对话日”）10周年的盛会。来自联合国和世界五大洲22个国家和地区的一百多位各界人士出席了盛会。论坛举办的三天时间内，共开展了54场学术活动。《尼山论坛文库·来自尼山的声音：第二届尼山世界文明论坛实录（英文版）》是本次世界文明论坛的实录，围绕“和而不同与和谐世界：信仰·道德·尊重·友爱”的主题展开，体现了大家对我们这个世界的深切关怀。尼山，再次发出了世界多元文明和谐共存、通融对话的声音。
