本书集中选取了《中国日报》上的新闻报道，这些报道不仅涵盖了中国在政治、经济、文化、社会等各个领域的最新动态和重大事件，还反映了中国在国际舞台上的积极参与和贡献。通过阅读这些报道，学生不仅能够提升新闻英语的阅读理解能力，还能够深入了解中国的发展现状和国际地位，增强对国家的认同感和自豪感。
本教材精心编排了两大核心模块。第一个模块为课堂教学模块，共六个单元，每个单元包含单元学习提要、两篇具有代表性的新闻报道、拓展阅读材料，最后均设有实践任务，引导学生将所学知识应用于实践，从而巩固学习效果。第二个模块为自主学习模块，共有三个话题。每个话题均附有深入探讨的问题，同时，我们也设置了相关话题的探索任务，即学生需在线上检索与所选话题相关的新闻报道，并将这些报道与教材中提供的文本进行对比分析，激发探索新闻世界的热情。
