《熊镇的故事》是一套系列插画故事书，图文并茂。本书是中文版《熊镇的故事：八顿和弗雷迪（三）奇妙古建游》的英文版。
讲述了熊爸爸八顿带着熊儿子弗雷迪去寻访奇妙的中国古建筑的故事。通过他们寻访 古建筑（宋代定州料敌塔、唐代五台山佛光寺和南禅寺、辽代应县木塔、金代应县净土寺、辽代涿州双塔等）的奇妙经历，把中国古建珍宝介绍给大家；同时，通过父子间 “提问/回答”的对话方式，深入浅出地介绍了古建基本常识，使得大众在旅游时不仅“看热闹”，也能“看门道”，提升大众对于中国古建以及古建相关艺术门类（雕塑、绘画、书法、碑刻）的认识水平和欣赏水平。同时把古建保护的理念潜移默化地融入书里的细节中，帮助大家树立正确的文物保护观念。
