这本书是关于中国高校英语教师对大学英语课堂语法教学的认知和实践研究。本研究对教师认知和教师教育研究有重要的作用。首先,它增加了对不同教育背景下教师对语言教学的认知和教师专业发展的理解,如一个中国省份的英语环境。第二,对研究教师对语言教学认知的方法论进行了深入的探讨。这种混合研究方法不仅能提供对教师认知的观点,而且能揭示个别教师对语言教学,特别是与英语语法教学有关的个人理解。最后,本研究证实Borg的教师认知理论为这类研究提供了一个合适的框架。建议类似的研究可以采用这一理论来解释研究结果。
